DORBLU GRAND NOIR is the World’s Best Blue Cheese


DORBLU GRAND NOIR is one of Käserei Champignon’s specialty cheeses has earned top honors at international cheese contests in recent years.

In March, 2016 DORBLU GRAND NOIR took BEST OF CLASS in the Blue veined cheese category at the World Championship Cheese Contest held in Madison, Wisconsin over 40 other entries submitted in its class. The World Championship Cheese contest, organized by the Wisconsin Cheese Maker’s Association, gathered fifty expert judges from around the world to taste and evaluate cheeses from 31 states and 23 countries. The biennial contest, first established in 1957, received a record 2,955 entries this year.

Two months later, 26-27th of July at the International Cheese Awards in Nantwich, Cheshire, UK DORBLU GRAND NOIR was named as “Best International Cheese” and “Best Blue Cheese”. Over 270 judges assessed the cheese. The competition was very strong as the International Cheese Awards at Nantwich (UK), set a new world record with 5,000 cheese and dairy produce entries from 27 countries this year.


Celebrating six gold medals at DLG Awards 2014

Once again DORBLU Classic, DORBLU Royal Blu, DORBLU a la Crème and DORBLU GRAND NOIR became the triumphers of DLG Awards 2014 having won 6 Gold awards.

DLG contributes to increase the quality level of food products because of objective valuation based on the current scientific findings. Every year more than 27 000 food products from all over the world are tested in the DLG quality tests.

Along with careful study of processing and preparation of the foods the great attention is also given to control the raw materials quality. Only the foods satisfied the very strict quality criteria are worth to gain the “DLG Award Winner” label.

The independent association of experts DLG (Deutsche Landwirtschafts-Gesellschaft) was found in 1885. It has over 25,000 members and is a leading organization in the agricultural and food sectors.
